Alaska Sea Bright

A lot of time we get asked about recommendations for places to stay in the Homer area. Our friends Pat & Barb over at Alaska Sea Bright have the perfect place located in China Poot Bay, just a quick boat ride from the Spit in Homer.

“Across the small bay 5,000-foot peaks jut up from the ocean floor adding to the majestic feel of this home. This 500 acre estuary is home to seals, otters, sea birds, eagles, all 5 species of salmon, and an untold variety of sea-life. Half a mile from the home is a sand bar where in July and August at least 100 seals haul out. 1 mile away, Gull Island is home to 17 species of sea birds. Watch the tide change a phenomenal 30 feet every 6 hours. On a clear day view St. Augustine Volcano 70 miles away.

This custom 5 star 2 bedroom 1800 sq foot single level home is located on the bluff above the bay, fully fronted in the grand room with windows to take full advantage of a visual feast, complete with a window seat. The perfect location to lounge and enjoy a cup of coffee with a great book.

The grand room sports a full vaulted ceilling of local cotton wood, The home is finished with an amazing collection of 10 hardwoods. The Kitchen is fully appointed. The dining area seats 6, with additional seating for 6 at the kitchen island. The bedrooms are located one at each end of the home, separated by the grandroom which affords each bedroom with more privacy. Each bedroom has new queen mattresses and luxury linen, each has its own complete bathroom. The bedrooms are oriented to the view, What a place to wake up!

The front deck has a BBQ, deck furniture, and an additional dining table.

Further down the dock is a vintage fishing vessel Wheel House which has been converted into a waterside sauna. For an additional fee, the sauna can be scheduled for an incredible experience.

Located on the Wheel House dock is a tram to lift your luggage from the beach up the 20′ cliff to the house level.

The Sea Bright is perfect for a very private stay.”
